DESCRIPTION:Nova Linea Contemporary Dance is Wisconsin’s premier contempo
 rary dance company. Known for our emotionally-provocative performances\, i
 t is Nova Linea’s mission to provide accessible and relatable stories th
 rough dance to our community. “Clarity & Connection”\, inspired by the
  book from author Yung Pueblo\, delves into the concept of self-awareness\
 , and how we cannot form healthy relationships with others until we have a
  strong understanding of ourselves. Following the five chapters of the boo
 k (Self-Awareness\, Unbinding\, The Love Between Us\, Growing\, and A New 
 Life)\, the work takes us on this narrative through the mediums of dance a
 nd music. Each chapter explores a different part of the process of underst
 anding ourselves\, the experiences that have shaped us\, and the ways in w
 hich we connect with the people around us. Told from the perspective of di
 fferent individuals\, this evening-length work also draws from the persona
 l stories of each artist\, as we all have different\, unique\, and complex
  experiences\, yet similar struggles and challenges to overcome in life. T
 hroughout the piece\, we are taken on a journey of letting go of past trau
 ma\, connecting deeper with our relationships\, and healing into a new ver
 sion of ourselves. The work explores the ways in which our past experience
 s can influence how we see ourselves and how we interact with others\, whi
 le reminding us that healing and growth are ongoing processes.
