The Historic Third Ward is Milwaukee's gallery and design district — a few blocks of restored cream-city-brick warehouses between downtown and the lakefront, anchored by the Milwaukee Public Market and the Broadway Theatre Center. Gallery Night, held quarterly, is the neighborhood's signature event but the calendar fills in around it with restaurant special nights, Public Market vendor events, and Renaissance Theaterworks / Milwaukee Chamber Theatre performances.
